The aim with this wine was to produce an up front and fruit driven cuvée. With a wonderful nose of fruit, cocoa and spices and overtones of aromatic herbs and leather, the palate is soft, rounded and bursting with fruit.
Dark and concentrated. Spicy notes with fig and leather. Silky tannins with a long peppery finish. Matured for 16 months in 600 litre oak casks.
A synthesis of the best of Rhône and the best of Burgundy, this wine has exceptionally rich, elegant and complex fruit with a long finish.
As with all of their other wines no chemical herbicides or pesticides have been used on the land and the wines have not been filtered nor fined. This wine should be drunk at temperature of 12 degrees and shows wonderful flavours of tropical fruit, especially star fruit, and some pear. It can be drunk as an aperitif and is also the perfect match to citrus and tropical fruit desserts.
Best drunk at room temperature this Maury should be drunk with rich, dark chocolate desserts or on its own as a digestif or with a cigar.
