Château de Pech Redon - La Centaurée / 2000 / Red
Quick Overview
This cuvée is named after a rare wild flower particular to La Clape. It comes from the oldest Syrah and Grenache, half aged in cuve, a quarter in old wood and a quarter in either new or wood that has seen only one other wine. Deep, smoky, toasty and highly garrigue-scented.
Domaine Description
Run by Christophe Bousquet since 1988, it is rated by the ‘Revue du Vin de France’ among the best in France. Christophe, from Jonquières, is one of the ‘young guns’, like Olivier Jullien, who have learnt their trade from their families. A trained oenologist, he is, surprisingly, more interested in his vineyards than the chais. A passionate terroir man, he believes supremely in preserving its identity and in what he, as a grower, can persuade his vines to give him.
