Château de Pech Redon - L'Epervier / 2005 / Red
Quick Overview
“L’Epervier” meaning Sparrow-hawk is an oaked blend of Syrah and Grenache but you hardly notice the wood because none of it is new. Supple ripe fruit with hints of rosemary and silky tannins. Deliciously smooth and well integrated.
Domaine Description
Run by Christophe Bousquet since 1988, it is rated by the ‘Revue du Vin de France’ among the best in France. Christophe, from Jonquières, is one of the ‘young guns’, like Olivier Jullien, who have learnt their trade from their families. A trained oenologist, he is, surprisingly, more interested in his vineyards than the chais. A passionate terroir man, he believes supremely in preserving its identity and in what he, as a grower, can persuade his vines to give him.
