Domaine Bertrand Bergé

Domaine Bertrand Bergé

Jérôme Bertrand’s grandfather set up as an independent grower in 1911. Today, the family retains a long-standing respect for their distinctive terroir, respecting traditions while embracing modern materials. With half his vineyards licensed for Fitou, 60% Carignan and 40% Grenache, Jérome raises his wines in concrete rather than stainless steel. There is currently no barrique ageing and no room in which to store the barrels although Jérôme plans to convert the old stable next door as soon as he has the time, installing new oak. If his oaked wines are any bit as good as his unoaked wines to date then we expect some very good wines indeed. Jérôme Bertrand has a reputation for producing ‘the best quality wines in Fitou’.
