This cuvée, first made in 1985, is mostly aged in wood (for a year) and includes some carbonic maceration for the Carignan, blended after malolactic fermentation. It will age very well as the young wine is packed with ripe, oaky vanilla flavours with a backbone of tannin.

Michel thinks this wine captures the spirit of harvest-time and it is indeed the base of the Borie de Maurel style. It shows mineral, black olives, tobacco and spices with morello cherries and red fruits leading to mint and liquorice on the finish. Smooth, well balanced and juicy this wine is the perfect introduction to Borie de Maurel.

A luscious, concentrated wine first with hints of black pepper and tapenade that give way to garrigue herbs, ripened fruit and figs. Again produced from hand-picked grapes from vines in this case on the limestone and clay plateau of the Petit Causse. At least 13 months maturation with a third in oak. Perfect with lamb - a marriage made in heaven.

Made almost entirely from Marsanne this wine is rich and complex with white peach on the nose. A creamy, fleshy palate with crisp acidity, citrus notes, spice and texture. This wine is drinking superbly now and will age well due to maturation on its lees.

This is a particularly luscious wine with a dosage that imparts a fat, even rich, style with honeyed peach and apple. Its fine mousse gives a certain elegance making it a splendid aperitif with canapés or with added crème de cassis for a decadent Kir Royal.
